Firstly, I hope you’re well after what has been an extremely challenging year. The Covid-19 pandemic has affected us all in different ways, and I’d like to extend my sympathies to any Scheme members who lost loved ones or whose livelihoods have been impacted as a result. I’d also like to take the opportunity to thank all our advisers and service partners for keeping the Scheme running smoothly through all the disruption.
On the trustee board, Graham Wardle has stepped down as trustee and Chair of the board after ten years. We wish him well for his retirement and thank him for his steady leadership and wise guidance over the years. I am delighted to have taken over as Chair and, like Graham, I work with BESTrustees Limited, an independent firm of professional pension trustees. More news on the trustee board is that Helen Mayfield has been reappointed as a member-nominated trustee, so congratulations to Helen.

That’s why we’ve produced this newsletter online – and we’ve also simplified this year’s benefit statement.
