Update on the Capita cyber incident

In 2023 we notified you that Capita, who provide our pension administration services, experienced a cyber incident. This had affected the security of some members’ personal data that Capita processes on behalf of the Scheme.

To date, there is no evidence that information resulting from this incident has been misused or that it is available illegally including on any third-party websites. Capita were also informed by an independent third-party advisor that their systems are safe, clean and secure. They have a stable and robust system in place to protect your data.

We take the responsibility of protecting your personal data very seriously and want to reassure you that we have continued to work closely with Capita and that your pension remains secure. Following the incident, affected members were given 12 months credit and internet monitoring services via Experian. However, after receiving feedback from members, the Trustee and Heidelberg Materials agreed to extend this for a further 24 months. You will have received a communication detailing how to access this if you were eligible.

If you have any questions regarding the cyber incident, you can send an email to cyberqueries_all@capita.com or call the helpline on 0800 090 2091 (Monday to Friday – 9.00am to 5.00pm).
